Welcome to the Whare 〰️

This cosy coastal whare has been thoughtfully prepared to help you relax from the moment you arrive. Check-in and check-out are at 10am, allowing your stay to flow gently with the pace of the coast. Inside, the whare is warm and comfortable year-round with air conditioning and heating. Guests can unwind with Wi-Fi and a TV offering Netflix, YouTube, and standard channels.

Kitchen & Dining: The kitchen and dining space is perfect for preparing and enjoying your own meals. It’s fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, microwave, four-element electric cooktop, electric single oven, and all essential cookware. Coffee, tea, raw sugar, salt and pepper, and cooking oil are provided.

Sleeping Arrangements: The whare comfortably sleeps guests across three bedrooms:

• One queen bed in the main bedroom

• One queen bed in the second bedroom

• Two king-single beds in the third bedroom

Fresh linen, towels, and face cloths are provided, with clothes hangers in wardrobes and extra duvets available for cooler nights.

Bathroom & Laundry: The bathroom includes shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and a hair dryer. The toilet is separate and includes a hand basin and essentials. Guests are welcome to use the laundry, which includes a front-loader washing machine and dryer.

Outdoor Access & Parking: Guests may access the Kaitawa Estuary and river through the gate. Please ensure the gate is closed behind you, as cattle graze in the paddock. Parking is available directly in front of the verandah.

Good to Know - Important Information: Ūawa / Tolaga Bay food prices are often significantly higher than Gisborne.  Guests are advised to bring groceries and essentials with them.  

House Rules:

  • To respect neighbouring properties, the whare must not be used for parties, gatherings, or celebrations involving additional guests.

  • Not suitable for pets.
